ALTAVINS we have received one of the most important awards in the sector: the Gold Medal of “Grenaches du Monde,” which is currently one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world.
The white Garnacha of Ilercavònia and the Garnacha Peluda of Almodí have just been recognized with a Gold Medal in the 2021 edition of this international wine competition.
Altavins is the first winery to produce a 100% Garnacha Peluda, a variety deeply rooted in our territory and, for us, very important because it is a special variety that allows us to preserve, promote, and strengthen it.
Ilceravònia is the ultimate expression of white Garnacha, the origin and icon of the Terra Alta DO. A wine with body, soul, and a reflection of Altavins’ work philosophy: identity, honesty, and Mediterranean spirit.
These awards are a recognition of the quality wines of the DO Terra Alta, a Mediterranean area with the largest area of Grenache in the world.

To these Gold medals from “Grenaches du Monde,” we add the Gold medals earned earlier this year at the Berliner Wein Trophy for Ilercavònia 2020 and Tempus 2018.
And the prestigious French multimedia group Gilbert & Gaillard, which organizes the renowned Gilbert & Gaillard awards each year to recognize the best wines of the year according to international standards, has awarded Altavins Gold medals for Almodí 2020 (88 points) and Almodí Petit Negre 2020 (88 points), Ilercavònia 2020 (90 points), Tempus 2018 (90 points) and Domis Pensi 2017 (92 points).
